How it works
- 01
Plan the week
Put your meals on the week, from Foodie's library of UK family dinners or your own recipes.
- 02
Get the list
Foodie writes the grocery list from those meals, with the amount each one needs and how many packs to buy.
- 03
Choose where to shop
See the whole list's total at each of 5 chains, or the cheapest split, and pick one store or a few.
- 04
Tick it off
In the shop the list is in aisle order and works offline. Tick things off as they go in the trolley.
Written from your meals, not typed
You never type the list. Plan a cottage pie for six and a salmon tray bake for four, and the mince, the onions and the lemons are on it, scaled to match.
Each line says how much the meal needs and how many packs to buy, so you're not guessing at the shelf.
Ready for the shop
The in-store list follows the aisles, so you cross the shop once. Pick the days you're shopping for and it shows just those meals.
It keeps working with no signal, and your ticks are saved, so a dropped connection by the freezers doesn't lose your place.
Someone else doing the shop?
Send them the list as text, through WhatsApp, a message or the clipboard, with the things already ticked left off. There isn't a live shared list yet.
Skip what's in the cupboard
With Pro or a founding seat, tell Foodie what's already in your kitchen and those lines drop off the list. What you tick in the shop is added to your kitchen for you.
Questions
- Is Foodie a grocery list app?
- Yes. Plan your meals and Foodie writes the grocery list for you, priced at Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose. In the shop it works as an offline tick-off list.
- Does the list work offline?
- Yes. Open the list before you lose signal and it keeps working in the shop. Ticks you make offline are saved and sync when you're back online.
- Can I share the list?
- You can send it as text, through WhatsApp, a message or the clipboard. There isn't a live shared list that updates on two phones yet.
- Can I add things that aren't in a meal?
- Not yet. The list comes from the meals you plan, so every line is something you're cooking with.
- What does it cost?
- A founding seat is £39.99 a year, renewing at that price for as long as you keep it. Cancel any time, and if it isn't for you, ask for a full refund within 30 days.
