How it works
- 01
Pick your meals
Start from Foodie's library of UK family dinners, or add your own recipes with their ingredients.
- 02
Put them on the week
Place each meal on a day, at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Set how many it's for, and mark leftovers so nothing is bought twice.
- 03
See what it costs
Foodie writes the shopping list and prices it at 5 chains: each one's total, and the cheapest split between them.
- 04
Shop it
Take the list to the shop on your phone. It's in aisle order, works offline, and you tick things off as you go.
Does it plan the week for me?
The dull part, yes. Once your meals are on the week, Foodie writes the shopping list, scales every ingredient to your household and prices it, with no typing.
With Pro or a founding seat, “Suggest a week” fills an empty week from your own meals, favourites first, and “Repeat last week” brings last week back in one tap. It doesn't invent meals for you, or build plans from calories.
Made for a household
Set your household size once, then change it for any meal: a Sunday roast for six, a Tuesday pasta for two. The list follows, down to how many packs to buy.
Leftovers count too. A meal eaten twice from one cook adds nothing to the shop the second time.
It knows what the week costs
Prices are the public shelf prices at Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose, collected every day. You see the whole week at one store, the cheapest split, and the difference.
Set a weekly budget and Foodie tells you calmly when a plan goes over. Multi-buys and loyalty-card prices aren't included, so treat each total as a close estimate.
What it doesn't do
Foodie doesn't count calories, filter by diet or order your shopping online. You shop in store or on the supermarket's own site. It's for UK households that want the week planned and costed.
Questions
- Is Foodie a meal planner app?
- Yes. You plan the week's meals on a grid, and Foodie turns them into one shopping list priced at Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose.
- Can it plan my meals automatically?
- It writes and prices the shopping list for you automatically. With Pro or a founding seat, Suggest a week fills an empty week from your own meals, favourites first. It doesn't create meal plans from calorie or diet goals.
- Does it work for a family?
- That's who it's built for. Set your household size, change it for any meal, and mark leftovers, and the shopping list is scaled to match.
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. Foodie runs in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. The shopping list works offline in the shop.
- What does it cost?
- A founding seat is £39.99 a year, renewing at that price for as long as you keep it. Cancel any time, and if it isn't for you, ask for a full refund within 30 days.
